Death by Moss

So--our front lawn isn't grass.

No no, it's a lawn of moss, with a few grass weeds and dandelions.

I know we used to get some stuff that killed the moss and made the grass grow--anybody know what it is called? Or have any natural solutions? I heard that bleach would work (but that would kill the grass too!) and I've already tried baking soda (the moss loved it!) roll

Re: Death by Moss

Isn't that usually because the soil is very acid or compacted? I know the moss is abundant around the canopy of our oak trees. I know that what we call our front yard needs to be tilled to loosen the soil because we've got the same thing going on.
