Is there anything I can do to help this thread ? I have gotten pretty good at doing the front post stitch and the afghan stitch

would those help ?

Uh, knowing nothing about crochet myself, anything instructional that you put together, I will turn into a webpage.
The more static webpages we have on the subject, the greater the number of people that will find the place.

Re: Crochet stuff, Attn Hookers

ok here are a few pictures on how to make a Front Post Double
please let me know if the pictures are alright if not I will retake them

one you make a few pratice Fpdc you can work them into your granny squares or other projects

start with your basic chain

do a fountain row of doubles

do one or 2 more doubles on the next row than yarn over hook

take your hook BEHIND the post of the double on the row BELOW the one you are working on

yarn over the hook and pull behind the post

yarn over the hook - pull through the first 2 loops on the hook only

after you pull the first 2 loops this what it will look like so far

yarn over again and pull through the remaining loops on the hook

the finished front double post

any time you do a Fpdc - you will always work behind the Fpdc on the row below the row you are working on this will give you a "ridge" look in your project.

Re: Crochet stuff, Attn Hookers

FYI-For those of us using digital cameras, if you first select the Flower Icon on your camera prior to taking the picture (This is the Macro setting) you will be able to zoom in way more closer and clearer and therefore making a nicer easier to see tutorial.

Those look great ladies. I only wish I had seen THAT tutorial Julie before struggling for years to figure it out! haha

Gonna work on mine hopefully tomorrow! big_smile

Re: Crochet stuff, Attn Hookers

I had to teach myself that front post thing without pics and without anyone here that crochets - so I struggled with it too LOL

I hope the pics can help someone learn that stitch -- once you get the hang of it - it looks so pretty in a square I have a pattren for a wintercap that uses that stitch and it is so cute
