Mine has a very good temperment towards humans and the hens, just don't put another rooster in with him or he will kill it!

My Barred Rock has only been with us a short time
Like 10 days but she seems to fit in good same with her hubby

I have heard of a lot of things chickens can do but
They should know better than to get between a Lady an her DIAMONDS.
Lucky she did not end up on the dinner Table
DIAMOND a girls best Friend.  hehehehe

Here's mine, and they all are overly friendly!   Even the 3 babies would run to the edge of the brooder for attention when they were only days old.

Hi everyone  greet ....I'm new here and I thought I would jump right in and say that I love my barred rocks.

If I ever get more chickens I will definitely be getting more of these girls.  My chickens are 8 yrs old and I'm now down to one BR but I find them such a curious and friendly breed. They are very inquisitive and if I'm doing any sort of work in their area, the BR's were always the first to come over to "help"---especially if I have a shovel in my hand.
