This Thread is dedicated to Ameraucana's
This is my breeding trio of Birchen/Silver Blue Ameraucanas. I just started working with this colour 4 yrs ago and this is still my original rooster, I wanted to retire him last year but the wonderful son I got out of him(much better markings) sadly got taken by an Owl.....
and these are my first Ameraucana chicks for this year, they were hatched March 24th.
and here are the same to chick today, in the ugly stage, and both are roos...... although(I can't belive I am writing this) I am "happy" to have hatched roosters(the past 4 yrs I have been cursing these birds cause 95% of chicks are roos out of them), Salvador just isn't doing his job anymore(1 egg in every 2 doz is fertile..... not good).
This is my very handsome Lemon Blue EE roo. We call him Citrus. He is very gentle and very much a gentleman with his ladies.
This is my Ameraucana, Valerie. She's sweet but timid. She follows my roo around like a puppy dog. She's 5 months old here. Daughter of Speckledhen's Charlotte. She is at the bottom

I just got 2 Ameracaunas! I think...They were a couple of extras that a fellow had. He also said that if they turn out to be roos, he will exchange them.
Meet Bella and Rosa!
The one in front sure looks like a roo to me!
Meet Dixie, my Silver Ameraucana. She's skittish, so I had to literally crawl on my belly inch-by-inch to to sneak this shot of her. I think she's the prettiest hen in my flock and it's a shame she's so hard to photograph...this is when one of those fancy cameras with a zoom lens would be nice.
Dixie peering into the chicken tractor and shrieking her displeasure over the Marans chicks (not shown). Nothing escapes her attention or gets past her without a commentary of high-pitched shrieks.
Yes i'm constently online, so? I get bored.
Dapple ...I think she is an Americauna, not sure so if someone could ID her that would be great....she is a couple of months old I thought she would have been bigger now
update..she has been ID'ed (lol) as an Old English Game..blue

not sure what she is ,but, she is pretty, I dont see the puffy americana cheeks but that dos not mean she is not an easter egger (an americana mix) only way to know for sure is to wait till she lays some blue eggs. I have one not true americana that I kept because she has such a wonderful personality .She is americana X rhode island but she still lays blue/green eggs and she lives happily with my true americana girls.
Lady Red Americana X Rhode Island
