Comb Project Post Pictures Of Yours ~

In this thread I invite people to post pictures of their Chickens Combs.
I think it would be interesting to see how much variety there is out there.

A question about what a particular type of comb should look like, was brought up in my thread.
There seems to be a great deal of variety of Combs of similar type.

*Post pictures that clearly show your chickens comb. (as clear as you can get it, and crop, with a photo editing program, if needed)
*Be sure to label the picture with the type of comb it is supposed to be, and the breed of the chicken.

Additional resources
Types of Combs include: Buttercup, Cushion, Pea, Rose, Silkis, Single, Strawberry, V-Shaped and Walnut.

There are variations of the rose comb (rugged or smooth) caused by different alleles being present, as well as combinations of Rose and Pea combs making the walnut comb (in some cases) and even variation of the single comb.

The following are links related to Comb types and the genetics of Combs:
Combs - Incubation and Embryology - University of Illinois Extension - thanks DoctorGoose
Gene Interactions
Poultry Breeding and Genetics By R. D. Crawford Has some interesting information on the topic

Some Information about crosses of pea Combs with rose combs resulting in walnut combs
Inheritance in Poultry By Charles Benedict Davenport Another link about comb genetics.
DAVID'S BLUE EGG PAGE Has limited information but he sums it up nicely and has some pics of birds, all on a good old Geocities Page ... looks to be one of the original (pre Yahoo)addresses too

Lotsa stuff in those links but not alot of pictures smarty
I did an image search on google for "Rose Comb variation" and this is what I got: An unusual rose comb?
If you wish to add information or links to the above, please post it in a reply in this thread and the information will be moved to this post with your username beside it.
